Over Rodaan Al Galidi

Rodaan Al Galidi is schrijver en dichter. Hij is afkomstig uit Irak en woont sinds 1998 in Nederland. Omdat hij hier niet naar school mocht, heeft hij zichzelf leren lezen en schrijven. Al Galidi publiceerde eerder vijf romans en zeven dichtbundels in het Nederlands. Zijn dichtbundel De herfst van 'Zorro' (2007) stond op de shortlist van de VSB Poëzieprijs en zijn roman 'Dorstige Rivier' (2009) op die van de BNG Nieuwe Literatuurprijs. De roman 'De autist en de postduif' (2011) werd bekroond met de prestigieuze Literatuurpijs van de Europese Unie. Hoe ik talent voor het leven kreeg is zijn zesde roman.
